As the clocks revert back on the last Sunday of October each year, many anticipate enjoying an extra hour of sleep. However, recent studies reveal that this shift can lead to significant sleep disruptions, with many Brits struggling for up to a week post-change. This disturbance is largely attributed to interruptions in the body’s circadian rhythm.

New research highlights the adverse effects of tiredness on daily life at home and in the workplace. Alarmingly, over 8.5 million adults in the UK (16%) confess to initiating arguments with colleagues or loved ones when fatigued. Equally concerning, the same number admit to sparking conflicts with strangers in public settings. As a result, experts advise maintaining distance from others between October 27th and November 2nd, when tiredness levels are expected to peak.

The long-term ramifications of chronic tiredness are equally troubling. Data indicates that more than 3 million UK adults have resigned from their jobs due to negative emotions linked to fatigue. Among young adults aged 18–24, nearly a fifth (20%) have reported calling in sick because of feeling “tangry” , a term that combines anger and fatigue. This highlights the pressing need for effective solutions to combat tiredness in a society that demands high performance.

In light of these findings, Reign Storm, a new clean energy drink, conducted research to explore the energy habits of the UK population. The study uncovered some surprising statistics: approximately 3 million Brits have sneaked away for a quick nap during social events. Even more striking, up to 6 million adults are projected to miss the iconic New Year’s Eve countdown—arguably the biggest celebration of the year—due to sheer exhaustion.

The research also revealed a gender disparity in energy levels, with UK women nearly twice as likely as men to cancel social plans when feeling tired. This aligns with existing data indicating that women generally require more sleep to function effectively throughout the day.

Rob Adkins, EMEA Brand Director of Reign Storm, commented on the research findings: “Today’s schedules are increasingly packed, and lifestyles are busier than ever. This is especially true for Gen Z, who are learning to balance their social lives with careers while pursuing personal and fitness goals. The nation needs better energy solutions, which is precisely why we developed Reign Storm, a clean energy drink designed with plant-based caffeine, nine essential vitamins and minerals, and zero sugar to help individuals power through their active, adventurous, and demanding lives.”

Reign Storm is not just another energy drink; it boasts a great taste and is powered by plant-based caffeine derived from a blend of green coffee beans, guarana, and green tea. Importantly, it contains zero sugar and no artificial flavours, colours, or preservatives, making it a healthier choice for those looking to boost their energy levels. The unique formulation provides a potent combination of nine vitamins and minerals, which aid in reducing fatigue and enhancing overall energy levels.
