VitrA Tiles has officially brought its Aksaray solar power plant online, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable energy development.

As an integral part of the Eczacıbaşı Group, VitrA Tiles continues its transition towards clean energy solutions. The Aksaray Solar Power Plant (SPP), now operational, follows the successful launch of a 3.5 MW rooftop solar power plant in Bozüyük in 2023. With a 30 MWe/36 MWp capacity, this project will ensure that over half of the electricity consumed in its Turkish operations this year comes from renewable sources.

Innovating for a Sustainable Future

The Aksaray SPP is designed to generate enough power to sustain approximately 19,700 households per year. The facility, equipped with 65,520 PV modules, each with a 550 Wp capacity, will contribute to reducing carbon emissions by 37,190 tonnes annually.

VitrA Tiles CEO Mert Karasu outlined the company’s sustainability objectives, stating: “We aim to produce half of our electricity consumption from our own renewable energy facilities by 2025 and all of it by 2030 and thanks to this investment, we are one step closer to our global goals by further reducing our carbon footprint. We are committed to meeting all our electricity needs from renewable sources in the future.”

The Aksaray SPP installation began in April 2024, with power generation commencing in February 2025 following the successful integration of PV modules, inverters, transformers, cabling, and power transmission lines. This project represents a major step forward in the industry’s transition to renewable energy.
