- Advanced RGBW technology adds dynamic vibrancy to the façade
- Official debut during Eid Al Etihad celebrations
Emaar Properties has completed a transformative lighting upgrade for the Burj Khalifa. The new RGBW system, designed to integrate cutting-edge technology with architectural elegance, will be unveiled on 1 December 2024 as part of the UAE’s Eid Al Etihad festivities, heralding the 15th anniversary of the tower on 4 January 2025.
This upgrade brings a vivid spectrum of colours and dynamic lighting effects to the tower’s façade, enriching the visitor experience and reinforcing Dubai’s global reputation for innovation and design leadership.
The installation process involved six months of testing to ensure precision and seamless integration. The RGBW fixtures, replacing the old static lights, deliver addressable, colour-changing displays that can adapt to both daily use and special celebrations. These effects work in harmony with the Burj Khalifa’s media façade, preserving its sleek and iconic appearance.
Mr Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Executive Director at Emaar Properties, remarked: “Burj Khalifa has always stood as a beacon of what is possible when vision meets innovation. This lighting overhaul is a testament to our continuous pursuit of excellence and a tribute to the UAE’s spirit of progress. As we unveil this stunning upgrade during Eid Al Etihad celebrations and approach the tower’s 15th anniversary, this transformation marks a new chapter in its legacy, reaffirming Dubai as a city of boundless ambition.”
The new system sets a benchmark in architectural lighting design, blending advanced technology with creative artistry to inspire future innovations on a global scale.
