Narxoz University proudly announces the opening of its new Emen student residence, a $15 million project that sets a new benchmark for student accommodation in Kazakhstan. With a focus on luxury, comfort, and environmental sustainability, the 424-bed residence is designed to support the well-being and academic success of its students.

Infrastructure

The Emen residence, spanning 8,700m², offers state-of-the-art facilities and amenities that are unmatched in the region. Each bedroom is equipped with a private bathroom, air conditioning, and built-in furniture, ensuring a high standard of living. The residence also features communal spaces, including fully-equipped kitchens, utility rooms, coworking spaces, and medical facilities, providing comprehensive support to students.

One of the residence’s standout features is the 400m² roof garden on the fifth floor. This green space is designed for relaxation and recreation, featuring a selection of rare plants. The garden not only offers students a serene environment but also promotes environmental awareness and biodiversity.

Environment

Environmental sustainability was a key consideration in the construction of Emen. The residence includes over 100 trees and shrubs, contributing to the local ecosystem and enhancing the building’s environmental credentials. The surrounding external areas have been carefully landscaped to integrate with the natural environment. Local residents will also benefit from access to these botanical areas, fostering strong community relations and encouraging local engagement.

Housing Shortage

Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education, highlighted the importance of addressing the housing shortage faced by students in Kazakhstan. “Addressing the housing shortage is our ministry’s top priority. Last year, we faced a deficit of 27,000 places, which we have now reduced to 8,000. Today, I am proud to open several new dormitories, including this leading one at Narxoz University. Student residences like this one, popular in the UK, USA, and Turkey, offer well-designed, comfortable accommodation with private spaces and leading amenities.”
