International investor and philanthropist Javad Marandi https://www.newsanyway.com/2024/12/20/the-marandi-foundation-commits-to-donate-1m-to-youth-homelessness-charity/ continues his commitment to combating youth homelessness in the UK, pledging a £1 million donation through The Marandi Foundation to support Centrepoint—a leading charity dedicated to ending youth homelessness by 2037.
As reported by LUX Magazine, The Marandi Foundation, co-chaired by Javad and Narmina Marandi, is dedicated to supporting vulnerable children, families, and communities, as well as cultural and artistic initiatives. Speaking on the urgency of this cause, Marandi stated:
“Youth homelessness is an increasingly urgent issue across the world. If young people are homeless, through no fault of their own, they lack access to education, training, and opportunity and risk becoming ‘lost lives’.”
Centrepoint and The Independent Living Programme
Since January 2020, Javad Marandi has served as Co-Chair of Centrepoint’s Growth Board, leading efforts to expand the Independent Living Programme (ILP). This initiative provides safe, affordable housing for at-risk youth, ensuring they can transition into independent living and employment.
The programme aims to deliver 300 homes across London and Greater Manchester within the next decade, offering young people at risk of homelessness access to secure, low-cost housing.
A Four-Strand Approach to Supporting Youth
As part of his leadership role with Centrepoint, Marandi outlined a four-strand approach to addressing youth homelessness:
- Education & Training – Providing access to accredited qualifications and career support.
- Bursary Programme for Refugees – Supporting young refugees with language, legal aid, and education.
- Apprenticeship Academy – Equipping young people with vocational training and job opportunities.
- Development of an Online Platform – Expanding digital access to training and employment services.
Additionally, Marandi leads Centrepoint Works, an initiative that helps over 1,200 young people annually transition into employment, education, or training.
The Marandi Foundation: A Commitment to Social Impact
Founded in 2017, The Marandi Foundation is dedicated to:
