At Cersaie 2026, VitrA Tiles invited industry professionals to discover The Code concept and a wave of fresh innovations, all framed by its Material Intelligence approach.
Bologna, Italy: Held in Bologna, Italy between 21 and 25 September, Cersaie 2026, the global showcase for ceramic tiles and bathroom furnishings, drew VitrA Tiles to its halls, where the brand played host to architects, designers, customers and figures from across the industry. With the Material Intelligence concept as its guiding thread, VitrA Tiles unveiled its 2027 collections alongside a range of innovations.
“Every material has a code. Material Intelligence deciphers it.” It is a line that sits at the heart of how VitrA Tiles approaches design, reimagining materials found in nature by blending research, cutting-edge technology and design know-how. Building on the aesthetic and technical promise that nature holds, VitrA Tiles turns these materials into original surfaces, opening up new sources of inspiration for today’s architecture.

A trio of design languages
Under The Code concept, three design languages come together to shape the Resincode, Geocode and Metacode collections, all of which visitors to Cersaie can explore on the VitrA Tiles stand.
Resincode takes its cue from the porous, mineral-laden grain of natural concrete, with its organic transitions and layered surface effects, giving contemporary interiors a look that is minimalist, balanced and refined. Geocode looks to Spanish limestone, marble, quartzite and gneiss, carrying the varied geological legacy of natural stone onto ceramic with a modern reading, and it is offered in four separate surface types: Alba, Imperio, Rio and Merano. Metacode, meanwhile, spans three surfaces toned in gold, iron and copper, translating the gentle shifts of shade and soft sheen of patinated metal onto ceramic, marrying industrial character with a polished aesthetic.

Technology in the spotlight
Alongside the new collections, VitrA Tiles used Cersaie 2026 to present the V-Flex and V-Tone innovations as well.
Driven by Välinge’s Ceraloc® locking technology, V-Flex offers a way of laying tiles that needs no adhesive at all. Its specially designed side profiles let tiles bond mechanically, and unlike traditional glued installations, the system promises fitting up to five times quicker. It makes for accurate alignment, uniform grout lines and a neat, professional result. Should the need arise, single tiles can be lifted out and swapped, a considerable benefit that makes maintenance and repair work far simpler. Acoustic comfort is a further advantage. V-Flex is recommended for use in hotels, offices, showrooms, retail stores and chains, educational facilities and wider commercial settings.

Tackling the tonal variation inherent in ceramic production, V-Tone keeps colour consistent and preserves design integrity from one surface to the next. Work to build V-Tone technology into the VitrA Tiles production lines is still under way.
