South Korea-based energy storage company DeltaX is to build a $141m North American manufacturing campus in Walton County, Georgia, a move the company says will anchor its continental operations and serve rapidly growing demand for battery energy storage. Georgia Governor Brian P. Kemp made the announcement, saying the project is expected to generate around 250 new jobs in the county.
The DeltaX Georgia manufacturing campus will be located at the Piedmont Regional Industrial Park in Monroe, covering roughly 25 acres. Construction is planned to proceed in phases, with the first stage delivering a 100,000ft² facility dedicated to battery energy storage system (BESS) assembly. Later phases will add manufacturing capacity for key components, and a separate corporate office building will sit alongside the production facilities, forming what the company describes as a single integrated campus intended to accommodate future growth.

James C. Park, Vice President of North America Operations at DeltaX, is central to the Georgia project, according to the Governor’s Office. The corporate office building at the Monroe site is intended to serve as DeltaX’s North American headquarters, making the facility both a production hub and the company’s senior leadership base on the continent.
DeltaX founder and CEO Stephen Kim said: ‘Our Georgia facility will serve as the manufacturing hub for North America, enabling us to provide world-class BESS more efficiently while creating high-quality jobs and supporting America’s rapidly growing demand for reliable and sustainable energy infrastructure.’
Governor Kemp, who has made inward investment a centrepiece of his economic programme, welcomed the project in terms of Georgia’s industrial infrastructure. ‘Projects like this are possible because of our cutting-edge research universities, world-class workforce training, and reliable energy infrastructure, and I look forward to the opportunities it will bring to the people of Walton County,’ he said.
What DeltaX does and who it serves
DeltaX was established in 2020 and is headquartered in Seoul. As Area Development notes, the company develops intelligent battery management systems and AI-powered energy management technologies alongside its BESS products. Its customer base spans utility-scale energy projects, renewable energy integration, AI data centres, commercial and industrial clients, and original equipment manufacturers operating internationally.
The Georgia campus is designed to shorten supply chains for North American customers. BESS assembly in the first phase will be followed by component manufacturing, meaning the facility is conceived as a vertically integrated operation rather than a simple assembly plant. The phased construction approach gives the company flexibility to scale capacity as demand develops.
Georgia has become one of the more active US states for large-scale manufacturing investment in energy and industrial sectors. Kemp’s administration has pointed to the state’s training infrastructure and energy grid reliability as key draws for companies requiring consistent power for production-intensive operations, both of which are directly relevant to BESS manufacturing.
The DeltaX announcement follows a separate, broader wave of capital heading into Georgia’s industrial base. Japan set out plans to invest as much as $36bn in oil, gas and mineral projects across the US, forming part of a wider $550bn commitment made under a trade agreement with US President Donald Trump. Among the initial projects under that commitment is a synthetic industrial diamond manufacturing plant in Georgia, alongside a natural gas facility in Ohio and a deepwater crude export terminal in the Gulf of Mexico.
For DeltaX, the Monroe site represents a first physical foothold in North America. The company has confirmed construction will begin with the BESS assembly building, with the office headquarters and additional production facilities following in subsequent phases as the campus takes shape.
